I made a whirlwind, quick trip to Vancouver, Canada this past weekend and seriously… Granville Island was my favorite “tourist” spot. Mainly because the Public Market was full of so much amazing food. I am already regretting all of the food I didn’t get a chance to taste! I will probably spend some nights dreaming about the missed fruits, pastries and meals that I didn’t manage to find room in my tummy for. It was truly foodie-heaven.
My stomach was so happy that day.
It was cold and raining when we arrived at the Island that morning and we started off with delicious tea. I had the creamy Earl Grey and it was sooooooo good! Now I wished I took some loose leaf home.
For lunch, my friend recommended the oyster burger. I love oysters and this sounded amazing… and it was. Basically, they deep fried these fat oysters up and served them between burger buns.
We topped our meals off with handmade gelatos from one of the vendors within the food court area. The public market had so much fresh fruits and vegetables. One Italian vendor sold all kinds of handmade pastas! We even found a vendor selling fresh-baked donuts. I wished I had an infinite stomach that day to eat everything I saw. I can’t even begin to describe all the desserts that were available at the market.

For all the foodies out there– I would seriously consider taking a trip to Vancouver just to eat at Granville Island. Totally worth it! I didn’t get to see everything else that Granville had to offer, there are stores for shopping too. One day I’m going to go back… and I’m going to be SO READY with the ultimate empty stomach to fill up! Granville Island’s Pumpkin pie, I will have you! You too, chocolate croissant.
