SDCC 2013: Geek & Sundry

SCC 2013: Geek & Sundry

This year, Geek & Sundry won my favorite SDCC 2013 lounge picks. I only got to stop by briefly with Gizzy B but we had a pretty good time anyways. We abused the photo booth and the cardboard cut-out of Wil Wheaton (pictures below). Despite the fact that it was a Friday afternoon, the lounge wasn’t too crowded at all. I love that you can actually sit down and watch people play tabletop games all day long.

Like I mentioned, we abused the photo booth. Witness the results below and the photo  progression of (maybe we were drunk) weirdness.

The best part was that I actually got to show Wil Wheaton these crazy photos and it made him laugh out loud. Hope it wasn’t too much of a nervous/frightened laugh. . .

I hope to see this lounge back next year and I’ll be sure to spend more ‘relax time’ there. Plus, I get addicted to free photobooths. It just happens.

We dropped in during the Saturday night party, Cosplay Prom, and while we were walking out, Felicia Day arrived. I stopped to thank her for the cool lounge and shook her hand. Glad I got to see her briefly during the weekend because she remains to be one of the sweetest person in the geek community. For those looking for a non-pretentious outside lounge that doesn’t require a badge during the convention, this is the best place to go. The set up is laid back and simple with plenty of seats for those with achy feet. If you’re into tabletop gaming, it’s even a better place. It can also be a great place to meet a lot of friendly and cool people!
