What is more important than those exclusive merchandise and scoring autographs at San Diego Comic-Con 2018? The food and drinks, of course– which I am ALWAYS a huge fan of! This year, restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp at downtown San Diego are pulling all the stops all weekend with themed beverages and meals to celebrate our collective nerd party for the long weekend on July 18 until July 22nd. Want to know where to get the tastiest treats? Check out our list below!

Not forgeting the ladies, Bleu Bohéme on Adams Avenue will have the Spider-Woman: Femme d’Araignée (rye whiskey, Ramos Pinto fine ruby port, lemon juice and simple syrup, topped with soda water), while the Mezé Greek Fusion on Sixth Avenue will have The Black Widow (açai-infused vodka, raspberry, fresh lemon and Demerara) and Nebula’s Special Treat (Metaxa brandy, Greek red wine, peaches, orange zest, cinnamon and sparkling ginger)– as well as more Marvel inspired drinks like Thor’s Hammer (fig-infused Redemption bourbon, fresh lemon and hone).

Need some action? The Monkey King on Fifth Avenue will be serving Mortal Kombat themed drinks like Takeda’s Lasher (Russel’s Reserve GBOD single barrel bourbon, Aperol and pomelo-infused Carpano Bianco vermouth) and Sonya Blade’s Special Force (Old Forrester bourbon, ginger, lime, mint, tamarind and R&D aromatic bitters #7).

Earn some gold coins with some more video game themed noms!

Primavera Ristorante on Orange Avenue is keeping with the Italian theme with the Super Mario Brothers Meatballs, house-made pork and beef meatballs topped with creamy ricotta and served with house-made marinara and basil crisps and the Mario Marsala, lightly breaded chicken breast sautéed in Sicilian Marsala wine with cremini mushroom. Pair it all of with the Princess Peach Bellini, made with prosecco and fresh peach slices.

Rick and Morty fans can get their schwifty drink on at BANKERS HILL BAR + Restaurant on Fourth Street with an inspired cocktail made of rye whiskey, green chartreuse, lemon, mint, cane syrup, ginger syrup, Peychaud’s Bitters and Angostura bitters. Attendees can also enjoy food by Chef Carl Schroeder and nom on a BH burger, barbecue pork tacos and the acclaimed parmesan truffle fries.
