Japanese High-Concept Pop Duo, FEMM to perform in Los Angeles

FEMM-Artist-Photo-A
If you’ve been on youtube or tumblr in the last two years, then you have probably seen or heard of F.E.M.M.

The acronym stands for Far East Mention Mannequins; it is the official name of plastic dolls that were brought to life by a mysterious organization called FEMM’s Agency Syndicate.  Only mannequins that pass certain criteria can become FEMM and the Agency is constantly on the lookout across the world for plastic diamonds in the rough.

Tune in Tokyo and GAMeBoi have teamed up together to bring FEMM to the West Hollywood nightlife, performing for the first time in the US on August 7, 2015.

Cosplay & Derping with ItsLiviaChu Cosplay at Anime Expo

Asuka Langley - Evangelion, Photo by Saffels Photography

Asuka Langley, Evangelion – Saffels Photography

From the moment I happened upon her instagram account 2 years ago, I’ve been a fan of ItsLiviaChu aka Olivia Chiu. Her amazing makeup skills, prolific fun cosplay choices, and openly goofball personality have definitely helped propel her into her much deserved “Cosplay Senpai” status at Anime Expo.

I had the chance to sit down and derp around with Olivia during Anime Expo to talk more about what got her into cosplay, the cosplay community, and her experiences as a guest at Anime Expo 2015.

Cosplay Round Up: Anime Expo 2015

Another year of Anime Expo flew by, closing it’s 24th year.
As we’re coming down from our AX high, and gearing up for San Diego Comic Con, here’s a cool round up of cosplayers and cosplay gatherings we saw this year.

This year there was an abundance of love for classic shoujo manga like Sailor Moon, classic CLAMP Series, League of Legends. We also appreciated the abundance of sport anime cosplay, and the funny memes.

Many cosplayers were also able to make use of the pre-made photo sets that AX brings back every year, as well as the cosplay repair stations.

The Craft at Hogwarts

When it was announced that Sony was attempting a remake of the 90s cult classic “The Craft” last month, the internet let out a collective groan.
Who can blame them after seeing that watered down outrageously bad Jem trailer?

However, the announcement did get my nostalgia wheels turning.
What else has witches with traits that can be divided into four?
Motherfuckin’ HOGWARTS.

THEHOGWARTSCRAFT-FINALIMAGE-smaller

It amazed me that I had actually never come across a Craft x Hogwarts mash up before. I am sure it exists.

I enlisted the help of my two Potter friends (who were free) in recreating ‘The Craft’ movie poster in a Potteresque fashion.

TOP

The collection features Avengers-centric pieces, that are simple yet fashionably fierce, ranging from $26 to  $36 (USD).

The direction of Geek fashion is constantly evolving, and lately, there’s been a strong push towards diversity and positivity within fandoms, which is certainly the case for this shoot. There was a strong effort to include ladies of different races and backgrounds, as well as body types.
