Legendary Comics @ SDCC 2021: Oscar Isaac Surprises Fans on Online Panel – Watch It Now!

Head Wounds: Sparrow is a graphic novel created by Bob Johnson and John Alvey and developed by Oscar Isaac and Jason Spire. It will be available in Fall 2021. Curious fans can listen to the creative team, including New York Times’ best-selling writer Brian Buccellato and artist Christian Ward, go in-depth regarding the book’s origin, mythology and its creation process.

SDCC 2019: Scenes Around the Con Part 4

On the last day of San Diego Comic-Con, while the lines were still long and arduous for all the outdoor activations, I managed to catch NBC’s Superstore photo opp when it didn’t have a line. They built a cute installation inside the Hard Rock Café of a mini-Superstore where you can have your photo taken as Employee of the Month. It was a nice way to wrap up the weekend!

SDCC 2019: Scenes Around the Con Part 1

The activation game was all over San Diego Comic-Con this year. I checked out the Pennyworth London Underworld activation at the Oxford Social Club– which captured the style and mood of the television show (airing now on EPIX). You are led into a speakeasy style space with music, as well as a cigar-shaped chocolate… if you so desire! Attendees had a taste of the mysterious Raven Society as well as receiving a hand-written poem.

SDCC 2019: Scholastic Comics & Cocktails With 2020 First Look

At the Comics & Cocktails mixer hosted by Scholastic, we got to preview their upcoming 2020 graphic novels under Graphix. The party was held at the Hilton Bayfront and attendees were given a peek at original artwork while being served food and drinks. Can’t go wrong with tacos and comics!

Illustrators were at the party to sign prints and copies of their books, including Katy Farina (Baby-Sitters Little Sister: Karen Witch), Paulina Ganucheau (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power: Legend of the Fire Princess), Andy Runton (Owly: The Way Home), Maria Scrivan (Nat Enough), Shannon Wright (Twins), and Jimmy Gownley (Seven Good Reasons Not To Grow Up).

SDCC 2018: Beychella at Wired Café

This year at San Diego Comic-con, we invaded Wired Café and we did it in yellow leotards and thigh high boots. That’s right, my crew decided on a group cosplay and we dressed as Beyonce’s back up dancers from Coachella. We got to chill out from the San Diego sun for a few hours, enjoying cocktails, beers snacks and occasionally taking photos with people– thank you, Wired Café!
