On that fateful day, Mankind knew despair…
If you’ve been living under a bolder or completely missed my cosplay showcase post, Attack on Titan fever swept the world like wildfire. And for good reason! The series does a fantastic job of putting viewers in the moment.
What if you really can live that moment? That’s exactly what I did with my friend Eviefire in March.
WeLoveFine and Marvel have dropped their ‘Age of Fashion’ collection for pre-order today, just in time for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The collection features Avengers-centric pieces, that are simple yet fashionably fierce, ranging from $26 to $36 (USD).
The direction of Geek fashion is constantly evolving, and lately, there’s been a strong push towards diversity and positivity within fandoms, which is certainly the case for this shoot. There was a strong effort to include ladies of different races and backgrounds, as well as body types.
Meet the models:
Defective Geeks’ own Yume Ninja and Michelle “ChubbyBunny” were involved with both styling and modeling this brand new collection of Marvel awesomeness and compiled some cool behind the scenes photos and videos of what goes into this kind of a shoot.

Vito Lapiccola from Comics on Comics joins the Space Pirate Queen and Gizzy B at The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach for a night of drinking (one bottle of beer each… we crazy). We re-watch Tokyo Drift together and this is the first half of our movie ramblings.
“A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…” is the iconic phrase that begins every Star Wars movie. Well, my epic Star Wars journey would more appropriately start, “Just a week ago only twenty minutes away… without traffic… if I’m lucky…”
What I’m trying to say is that last weekend I got to attend Star Wars Celebration. Ah! Like many I grew up watching Star Wars and so I was delighted to be able to finally go to this Star Wars-centric event.
I have to say there was something special about SWC. Maybe part of it is because Star Wars is something very special to me that I associate so much with being a child that I cannot help but be nostalgic when I am surrounded by it. Regardless, SWC was an absolute blast that catered to that little eight year old Giselle who used to wear her hair in the Princess Leia buns every day.
Welcome to another edition of Awesome Fanfic Monday. This time I picked a story about one of my favorite on screen bromances; Arthur and Eames from Inception.
One of the many things that I enjoyed about that movie was the bickering between those two characters. I would happily watch a sequel if it were just Arthur and Eames stuck in an elevator with Arthur having a panic attack and Eames pushing every one of his buttons (hey, may I should write that fanfic…). The fanfic for this week is called Facebook by pretend-to-care.
I hold a very special place in my heart for Hawkeye. I know everyone else loves them some of that Iron Man or Captain America or Thor, but to me, Hawkeye is my favorite Avenger from the movie. I also really enjoy the comic book series by writer Matt Fraction and artist, David Aja. Which means this edition of Fanart GLEE will also play homage to not only to Clint Barton but to the amazing and sassy Kate Bishop as well.
Actually, I’ll be totally honest — most of these are of Kate Bishop. She’s cool.
