You know what’s awesome? Star Wars. You know what else is awesome? Disney movies from our childhood. Now, what if I told you that there are some pretty awesome people out there who have combined these two into entities to create a very entertaining spoof called… wait for it… Star Wars the Musical.
Yes, it does exist! A couple of years ago the Space Pirate Queen and I met George Shaw, a very talented composer who has made this childhood dream mashup come to life.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Shaw a couple of years ago to promote the first episode of Star Wars the Musical and now padawans he needs our help to fund the sequel The Empire’s New Groove.
Fortune Cookie tries to convince us that arranged wedding with alpacas is a good idea and said, NAY, VALERIE! WE ARE MODERN WOMEN! Don’t let George Lucas use your showers. Fanfic Theatre: Attack on Titan x Pizza Hut.
Something I have tried to keep hidden about myself is that I am a closet romantic. Deep down underneath all of my bourbon swigging swagger and penchant for post-apocalyptic thrillers is a girl who loves a good romance. As much as I try to hide that part of myself it’s there and today is no exception. The fanfiction I have chosen for today is a very sweet once shot of the first kiss between Emma and Neal from Once Upon a Time.
I am, and always shall be, Team Neal. My apologies to the Hook fangirls out there, but I always thought Neal was superior. This has nothing to do with the fact that the actor Michael Raymond-James can do a Cajon accent and I kind of pretend that he can be Gambit… hehe… wait… what was I talking about? Oh yes, the fanfiction. This week’s Awesome Fanfic Monday goes to Counting the Stars by mamaXunicorn of Fanfiction.net.
We bring you a special Travelcast edition of the podcast, which is mainly Gizzy B and the Space Pirate Queen sitting in Carthay Circle inside California Disney getting buzzed off Manhattans. Yes, kids, you can get drunk at Disneyland. We talk San Diego Comic-con and the latest Batman Vs. Superman trailer.
Our guest this week is musician, George Shaw. You’ve heard his music at The Geekie Awards and Geek & Sundry’s TableTop with Wil Wheaton. He also wrote and produced ‘Star Wars Musical’, a Disney parody! We got to chat with him about music, movies, cartoon theme songs and what it means to be a creator online.
