Ep. 201 George Shaw

EP201GEORGESHAW

Our guest this week is musician, George Shaw. You’ve heard his music at The Geekie Awards and Geek & Sundry’s TableTop with Wil Wheaton. He also wrote and produced ‘Star Wars Musical’, a Disney parody! We got to chat with him about music, movies, cartoon theme songs and what it means to be a creator online.

Do you love Star Wars? Do you love Disney’s animated musicals? Ever thought you’d see the two combined? It’s the mash-up video you didn’t know you needed until right now.

Star Wars the Musical was created by musician, George Shaw and if you watch Geek & Sundry’s Tabletop with Will Wheaton, you’ve probably heard some of his music.  George answers a few question for us and he talks about how he got into writing music for the geek community and what inspires him.

Throwback Thors-day: Our First Video!

The first video we posted on our YouTube channel is ‘Defective Geeks Goes to Star Tours’ in 2011. Whilst bored and waiting in line  for the Star Tours ride in Disneyland after it had been revamped to what it is known as today! The wait time was so long that we somehow thought we should attempt to be brilliant, show our audience what it was like to wait in line AND created a story line all at the same time. A cat and mouse chase story, with mystery, drama and possibilities of forever friendships.

In my opinion, this video is still one of our best ones.

“Alien juice.”

Enjoy! ;)

Podcast2013-web-image

In a galaxy far, far away, our Lady Geeks fantasize about the greatest fish tacos that will unite the light and dark side of the Force and will bring peace to the entire galaxy. Because they are that damn good. Also — Thor in Disneyland, finally?!

Disneyland’s Innoventions Features Stark Industries

Disneyland 6/2/13

Innoventions is an often neglected attraction at Tomorrowland in Disneyland. There is hardly any wait to get inside but it’s a great indoor area to sit around and play. Or just get away from the park crowd and from the sun when it’s hot!  Innovention is Disney’s family friendly take on a the future of technology and everyday living.

Currently, the main attraction inside Innovention is Iron Man! What a fun idea to collaborate with Stark Industries and display all the suits that were used in the movies. Yet another advantage to the Marvel x Disney marriage. Too bad the Avengers are not “characters” who walk around at the park yet. . . Can you imagine Thor hanging out at Fantasyland?
