This is part one of our audio version of our Dungeons & Dragon Twitch stream with Mike Myler and Savannah Broadway (doesn’t she have an amazing super hero name?!). Listen in as the Lady Geeks struggle through the start of their first D&D session together in years. Click here if you’d prefer to watch the actual video stream.
We finally did it… we played Dungeons & Dragons with Mike Myler and we even streamed it on Twitch.tv!
Mike and Savannah were kind enough to put up with us n00bs (myself and Gizzy B were super n00bs. I think Fortune Cookie knew what she was doing in general, ha!) and let us preview their new project, Mists of Akuma. Watch our hilarious campaign and we will also break down the audio into three parts soon for those who prefer to listen via the podcast.
Enjoy. I’m not sorry that I enjoyed shanking thugs a lot… as my character, of course.
We talk to game writer, Mike Myler, who is representing from AdventureaWeek.com, a subscription based website that provides D&D and RPG Pathfinder compatible adventures. We chat about RPGs, writing for them and their successful Kickstarter for Rise of the Drow. We asked a bajillion questions and Mike tells us how he got into writing for games and what gets him excited about the industry as a creative person.
I was excited to read Everything I Need to Know I Learned from Dungeons & Dragons. My only previous experience with any “Everything I Ever Needed…†themed stuff was a poster I saw a few years ago which was Everything I Needed To Know I learned From Star Wars, which was cute, but kind of in-jokey. When I got this book, I thought: “Here is an amazing opportunity to explain to the masses everything nerds have known for years. A chance to make D&D less intimidating and more of a normal thing, useful, thing.â€
