WeLoveFine x Marvel: Age of Fashion Collection

WeLoveFine and Marvel have dropped their ‘Age of Fashion’ collection for pre-order today, just in time for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

TOP

The collection features Avengers-centric pieces, that are simple yet fashionably fierce, ranging from $26 to  $36 (USD).

The direction of Geek fashion is constantly evolving, and lately, there’s been a strong push towards diversity and positivity within fandoms, which is certainly the case for this shoot. There was a strong effort to include ladies of different races and backgrounds, as well as body types.

Meet the models:

The Marvel Experience

THE MARVEL EXPERIENCE

On Valentine’s Day, I made my way to the Marvel Experience while it was at Del Mar, California. This comic book geek playground consists of 7 domes, the largest one hosting several character inspired “training” stations. Most of it were video game stimulators, like learning how to fly like Iron Man or smashing robots as the Incredible Hulk. There are two stations that were more physical — the Spider-Man wall climber and the Black Widow agility test.

More photos below.

Fanart Glee: Pacific Rim, Jaeger Party

Gorgeous painting by GriveArt.

No one was flailing as much as I was in the theater while watching Pacific Rim. No one. That said, when pondering what my next round of Fanart Glee post should be about, I realized — duh, I bet there’s some amazing Pacific Rim fanart on Tumblr these days! Check out the ones I collected after the jump.

Disneyland’s Innoventions Features Stark Industries

Disneyland 6/2/13

Innoventions is an often neglected attraction at Tomorrowland in Disneyland. There is hardly any wait to get inside but it’s a great indoor area to sit around and play. Or just get away from the park crowd and from the sun when it’s hot!  Innovention is Disney’s family friendly take on a the future of technology and everyday living.

Currently, the main attraction inside Innovention is Iron Man! What a fun idea to collaborate with Stark Industries and display all the suits that were used in the movies. Yet another advantage to the Marvel x Disney marriage. Too bad the Avengers are not “characters” who walk around at the park yet. . . Can you imagine Thor hanging out at Fantasyland?

AVENGERS PRESS JUNKET: DDR, Man Soup, and Stroking Hawkeye’s Bow

Get ready for May 4th cause the Fourth is strong with The Avengers.

Greetings readers! Sabina AKA Wicked Phoenix here, sending her first transmission for Defective Geeks! A couple weeks ago, I got invited to The Avengers press junket and after writing my feature for Campus Circle, I found that there was so much material to share and geek out over with y’all.

Where to begin?

Ah-yes Robert Downey Jr. That man is Tony Stark or is Tony Stark just an extension or RDJ? He totally pulled an “I am Iron Man” moment when he announced, “Yeah, and not to keep you guessing, but we’re actually not done shooting. We are shooting one more scene tonight. Not kidding.”

That’s not exactly a spoiler, but since the premiere cut of the Avengers clocked in at roughly two-hours and a half, this news definitely a surprise to hear. During the second panel Joss was asked if Robert was kidding and he replied, “He’s Robert.  Of course, he’s kidding.”  (But apparently-NOT.  Many other news sources have confirmed that they did shoot an additional scene.)
