SDCC 2019: Scenes Around the Con Part 2

For the past few years, the geek world takes over San Diego’s Gaslamp area with quite a few activations. This year, we saw long lines for Detective Pikachu and for Brooklyn Nine-Nine right across the street from the convention center. Fans were able to immerse themselves in their fandom in the best way possible!

SDCC 2019: Scenes Around the Con Part 1

The activation game was all over San Diego Comic-Con this year. I checked out the Pennyworth London Underworld activation at the Oxford Social Club– which captured the style and mood of the television show (airing now on EPIX). You are led into a speakeasy style space with music, as well as a cigar-shaped chocolate… if you so desire! Attendees had a taste of the mysterious Raven Society as well as receiving a hand-written poem.

Check out our collection of photos below!

Illustrators were at the party to sign prints and copies of their books, including Katy Farina (Baby-Sitters Little Sister: Karen Witch), Paulina Ganucheau (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power: Legend of the Fire Princess), Andy Runton (Owly: The Way Home), Maria Scrivan (Nat Enough), Shannon Wright (Twins), and Jimmy Gownley (Seven Good Reasons Not To Grow Up).

SDCC 2018: The Green Arrow Takes Over the #IMDBboat with Kevin Smith

The cast of Arrow boarded the #IMDBboat, which included Stephen Amell, Colton Hayes, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Juliana Hakarvy, Rick Gonzales and Echo Kellum. While talking to Kevin Smith, the cast jokingly  challenged the cast of Riverdale with with Hakarvy declaring that they will “fall right over.” Maybe they haven’t seen how hardcore the Southside Serpent gets? This fight could get dirty! Check out more photos below provided by Getty Images for IMDb as well as more content on the IMDb.com website.

SDCC 2018 Prep: Superhero Food and Drinks

What is more important than those exclusive merchandise and scoring autographs at San Diego Comic-Con 2018? The food and drinks, of course– which I am ALWAYS a huge fan of! This year, restaurants and bars in the Gaslamp at downtown San Diego are pulling all the stops all weekend with themed beverages and meals to celebrate our collective nerd party for the long weekend on July 18 until July 22nd. Want to know where to get the tastiest treats? Check out our list below!

Get your Captain America waffle on at Café 222 on Island Avenue: a malted waffle shaped like Captain America’s shield, topped with fresh berries and whipped cream.

For the Star Wars fans, check out Prohibition Liquor Bar on Fifth Avenue where you can order drinks called Never Tell Me the Odds (Redemption Rye,demerara, Averna and R&D house bitters), I Find Your Lack of Faith Disturbing (El Silencio Mezcal, watermelon cordial and R&D smoke bitters), or Let the Wookie Win (bourbon, lime, ginger and Fernet).
