SUPER*MARKET: Shopping and Podcasting
What is SUPER*MARKET, you ask? This is the first SUPER*MARKET I’ve ever attended and I loved it. Bubble Punch invited local artists and designers to sell their original merchandise. Others were selling their own over flow of awesome stuff, like clothing and shoes. It was definitely more aimed at the ladies and our need to buy everything that is cute but hopefully, as the show gets bigger, we’ll have more things that dudes can enjoy too. Though I see no reason why a dude can’t rock a cupcake necklace if they wanted to, but that’s just me.
We were kindly provided with a table where we set up some buttons and flyers. Plenty of our friends were there, of course. Jon from Ogeeku.com showcased the new accessories he has been working on and they are pretty awesome. Check out his online store at Nerd Castle and keep an eye out for them. Jenny Rae was our table-neighbor… which was quite dangerous because it meant I was staring at her cake balls for the most part. She had her new flavor, butterscotch, on hand and I definitely ate my share of them… so yummy. Maria and her girls from Locketship were also there — another dangerous table to look at. Her cat jewelry are to die for!
Our live show went really well! At least, that’s what our friends told us. THANKS, FRIENDS! I admit, I was a little nervous mostly because I was awe-inspired that we were in Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist theater. I’m a big, stinkin’ fan so it was super cool for me to do a podcast show there. I am proud to say that we did get super silly and had a lot of fun with our “debate of the year” on which summer blockbuster is better: The Avengers VS. The Dark Knight Rises.
The audio recording of our podcast is up now, Ep. 56 Live at SUPER*MARKET! The audio starts out low but it picks up. You can listen to us be giant dorks in public.
OR! You can watch the video on Meltdown’s Youtube Channel. Here’s the convenient link that will jump forward right to when our show starts.
