San Diego Comic Con—aka, Nerd Christmas in the Summer— came and went. I attended for the entire weekend this year and snapped a handful of photos of cosplayers and all the cool things around the convention. There were way more that I missed, of course. The heat was brutal this year and I am too much of a wuss to walk in extreme heat. Fortunately, there were still tons of things to see and do. Check out the photo slideshow below! You can also view the photos on our Facebook page as well.

Find Your D’Arcy & Live Your Regency Dreams: The Jane Austen Evening
As a rabid Jane-ite, one who considers themselves an expert in all things Jane Austen, I was pleased as a Regency spiked punch to be able to attend the Jane Austen Evening this year, which is held annually at the Pasadena Masonic Lodge by the Society for Manners and Merriment.

Defective Geeks at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo 2015!
We were super excited to be a part of the action at Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo this past weekend with our friends at the Comic Bug!
The Comic Bug brought their community of talented creators to Comikaze with a “pavilion” which consisted of long rows of tables at the artist alley featuring comic artists, writers and even the new geek dating app, Cuddli. We got to sit and hang out next to artists like Dave Crosland, Jim Mahfood, Richard Starkings, Rafael Navarro and many, many more.
To add to the fun, we created cards that let fans express what their feelings about geeks or fangirls are. We hoped to spark conversation and pride in being a geek girl, and people did not disappoint! Take a look at some of the empowering answers, artwork, and awesome cosplay we saw from the Comikaze con-goers.

The same team that was behind the Sailor Moon Biker Gang Cosplay and the Gotham Playboy Bunnies group has brought together yet another group of totally outrageous cosplayers for “Jazz and the Hardlight Projections,” inspired by the art of Rage Gear Studios, and photographed again by Greg De Stefano.

Vampire Themed Gifts – Surviving the Summer Drought of TVD

Graduations are almost over, wedding season has started, and reruns of The Vampire Diaries leave me thirsty for a few new things. If you know a grad, birthday gal or bachelorette who has a thing for vamps this short list of items might peek your interest.
If you’re a fan of Adventure Time and vampires a Marceline The Vampire Queen T-Shirt is a pretty solid choice if you have to buy something last minute.

Jane Austen Bath Festival 2014
For years I have wanted to go to the Jane Austen Bath Festival, and this year I finally got my wish. I coerced three of my friends to go with me and we had a fantastic time.
There were amazing costumes all weekend. It was super cool seeing them all wandering through town.
