Disneyland, Star War’s Galaxy’s Edge and Rise of the Resistance

I finally caved into peer pressure and allowed my friends to convince me to buy an Annual Pass to Disneyland. It has been years and years since my last visit at the park and I was very excited to see Star War’s Galaxy’s Edge (or as we fondly keep calling it: Star Wars Land).

My first visit did not disappoint and I was in absolute awe of everything. It truly felt like entering a different world. The life size Millennium Falcon was every bit as amazing as everyone’s Instagram photos had suggested. The ride, Smuggler’s Run, is so much fun– though I am traumatized from taking on the pilot role forever. I’ll be an engineer for life, thanks…

Star Wars Celebration 2015

“A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…” is the iconic phrase that begins every Star Wars movie. Well, my epic Star Wars journey would more appropriately start, “Just a week ago only twenty minutes away… without traffic… if I’m lucky…”

What I’m trying to say is that last weekend I got to attend Star Wars Celebration. Ah! Like many I grew up watching Star Wars and so I was delighted to be able to finally go to this Star Wars-centric event.

Star Wars Celebration 2015

I have to say there was something special about SWC. Maybe part of it is because Star Wars is something very special to me that I associate so much with being a child that I cannot help but be nostalgic when I am surrounded by it. Regardless, SWC was an absolute blast that catered to that little eight year old Giselle who used to wear her hair in the Princess Leia buns every day. Continue reading

Throwback Thors-day: Our First Video!

The first video we posted on our YouTube channel is ‘Defective Geeks Goes to Star Tours’ in 2011. Whilst bored and waiting in line  for the Star Tours ride in Disneyland after it had been revamped to what it is known as today! The wait time was so long that we somehow thought we should attempt to be brilliant, show our audience what it was like to wait in line AND created a story line all at the same time. A cat and mouse chase story, with mystery, drama and possibilities of forever friendships.

In my opinion, this video is still one of our best ones.

“Alien juice.”

Enjoy! ;)

Met Thor at Disneyland, Can Die Now

You Disney and Marvel enthusiasts out there probably know that there is now an Asgard section in the Innovations building in Disneyland. For those of you who don’t know, you’re welcome.

Thor: Treasures of Asgard

For the past few months I have been trying to find the time to make it over to the Magic Kingdom so that I could harass Thor experience this exhibit myself.

I didn’t know what to expect. When I approached the “Treasures of Asgard” exhibit all I found was a line of excited people, but I had no idea where the line went. While in line I did get to gaze upon some fun Asgardian artifacts.
