San Diego Comic Con—aka, Nerd Christmas in the Summer— came and went. I attended for the entire weekend this year and snapped a handful of photos of cosplayers and all the cool things around the convention. There were way more that I missed, of course. The heat was brutal this year and I am too much of a wuss to walk in extreme heat. Fortunately, there were still tons of things to see and do. Check out the photo slideshow below! You can also view the photos on our Facebook page as well.

Robot Chicken Meets DC Comics
What do Robot Chicken and DC Comics have in common?
An art show, a fan base, and doing some good.
With their powers combined, they have also hosted three (3!) spectacles over at iam8Bit gallery in Echo Park, California.
On March 28th, they hosted their one-night-only charity art show and to celebrate the April 6, 2014 premiere of their Robot Chicken Comics Special 2: Villains in Paradise.
ART SHOW: Xanadu Rocketship
Xanadu Rocketship (Jess Keys) had her first, solo art show at Low Light in San Diego which showcased a collection of her bright and illustrative paintings. I dig her style, combining sexy, kawaii and pinup inspired by animation art. Despite the pastel color palette, her female characters has a certain femme fetale sensibility to it– they’re playful while also empowering. Minus all the Fine Arts mumbo jumbo, all I have to say is that Xanadu’s art is pretty f’in awesome and I am so happy for her!
