SDCC 2018: Beychella at Wired Café

This year at San Diego Comic-con, we invaded Wired Café and we did it in yellow leotards and thigh high boots. That’s right, my crew decided on a group cosplay and we dressed as Beyonce’s back up dancers from Coachella. We got to chill out from the San Diego sun for a few hours, enjoying cocktails, beers snacks and occasionally taking photos with people– thank you, Wired Café!

Ep. 127 Magnet Yellow

The Lady Geeks are excited about San Diego Comic-con 2013 weekend (like we are every year, apparently) and so we discuss our plans for the weekend which mostly involves booze. And possibly stalking Joe Manganiello. Fortune Cookie recaps her Anime Expo 2013 weekend. Then we talk some more about SDCC and sound like complete douchebags! Fanfic Theater: Batman x Robocop.

MOVIE REVIEW: Magic Mike

While the rest of you guys are living it up at Comic-Con and I’m totally not wallowing in self-pity and jealousy, let’s talk about Magic Mike and why everyone should go see it.

Four good reasons, right there.

When I first heard that Channing Tatum was going to make a movie (loosely) based on his time as a male stripper, I thought someone was messing with me. Then I heard Matt Bomer was going to be in it — what — alongside Joe Manganiello — WHAT — and the movie was going to be directed by Stephen Soderbergh — EXCUSE ME?! — and by that point I realized that it had to be real, because not even in my wildest fantasies could I have imagined something like this.

Fast forward almost a year later, and Magic Mike is finally here. And guess what? It’s not just a stripper movie, it’s a critically acclaimed stripper movie.

Trailers tend to be a little misleading from time to time, but I walked into the theater expecting to see a very different film from the one I ended up watching. The movie was promoted as a fun, sexy summer flick with a lot of skin and raunchy humor. It definitely has all of that, but much like tearaway clothing, Magic Mike has some hidden layers.

Interview with Tiffani Thiessen from “White Collar”

It’s hard to believe that White Collar is already halfway through it’s third season. I’ve been a huge fan of the series ever since the pilot, and if anyone had told me then that I’d be interviewing someone from the show, I would have laughed at them. Well, here we are, nearly two years later, and I was given the chance to talk with Tiffani Thiessen, who plays Elizabeth Burke. USA Network was kind enough to extend an invitation to join a phone-in chat — on my birthday, as it happens! — and I had the amazing opportunity to ask Tiffani some questions about her character, upcoming episodes, guest stars, and her own experience working on White Collar.

I had never interviewed anyone, let alone a well-known actress that I admire and adore, before Thursday morning. Needless to say, I was very nervous. I really didn’t need to worry, though; Tiffani was incredibly gracious and kind, and I couldn’t have asked for a nicer person to talk to. (Seriously. ♥)

In the interview, Tiffani revealed some wonderful insights into Elizabeth’s character and her relationship with Peter and Neal. She also talked about what it was like to work with certain guest stars, related some great anecdotes from set, and dropped a few tantalizing hints about future episodes.
