I have a not-so-secret joy these past television seasons that comes from looking forward to new episodes of Once Upon A Time. This season started out pretty crazy and I freakin’ love it so much already. All you Oncers know what I’m talkin’ about, but I will not spoil it for anyone else! This series is teeming with so many amazing characters so this collection of fanart will be a little bit all over the place, but I wanted to show my appreciation for the new season… plus, it is kind of hard to pick a favorite character. I am Team Emma x Regina forever though.
Something I have tried to keep hidden about myself is that I am a closet romantic. Deep down underneath all of my bourbon swigging swagger and penchant for post-apocalyptic thrillers is a girl who loves a good romance. As much as I try to hide that part of myself it’s there and today is no exception. The fanfiction I have chosen for today is a very sweet once shot of the first kiss between Emma and Neal from Once Upon a Time.
I am, and always shall be, Team Neal. My apologies to the Hook fangirls out there, but I always thought Neal was superior. This has nothing to do with the fact that the actor Michael Raymond-James can do a Cajon accent and I kind of pretend that he can be Gambit… hehe… wait… what was I talking about? Oh yes, the fanfiction. This week’s Awesome Fanfic Monday goes to Counting the Stars by mamaXunicorn of Fanfiction.net.
Fandom word of the day, Fortune Cookie teaches us what “itasha” means and then the Space Pirate Queen is tired and babbles on and on about Once Upon a Time. Fanfic Theatre: My Immortal.
Technically, I don’t watch television since I have been watching everything online now. I still don’t know if I should feel bad about that or not, but I do things during the night and-and-and– it’s super hard to follow TV schedules, you guys. If you’ve been listening to our podcast, you know which shows I am big on this season but if not, I decided to write this blog for you and explain in Space Pirate Queen terms why I think these shows are awesome. Get ready.
In this episode, there are more talks about television shows but don’t worry, the Vampire Diaries discussion is quite minimal. The Lady Geeks share their thoughts on the “LoliChan” phenomenon, what it implies about the human psyche and why the internet can seem so strange.
In this week’s episode, the Lady Geeks gushes on and on about the amazing weekend that is called The San Diego Comic-con. They tell tales of shenanigans including drinking a lot of free alcohol and perhaps almost assaulting Superman on a boat. Pretty sure Henry Cavill is now our best friend forever. It’s a sexy story. You should listen now.
The last episode we recorded while we were in Paris — the Space Pirate Queen, Gizzy B and Pilbeam have one last late night conversation during their trip. We talk a little bit more about our impression of Paris but mostly we ended up talking about Once Upon A Time. We also contemplated where Brendan Fraser went.
