The Craft at Hogwarts

When it was announced that Sony was attempting a remake of the 90s cult classic “The Craft” last month, the internet let out a collective groan.
Who can blame them after seeing that watered down outrageously bad Jem trailer?

However, the announcement did get my nostalgia wheels turning.
What else has witches with traits that can be divided into four?
Motherfuckin’ HOGWARTS.

THEHOGWARTSCRAFT-FINALIMAGE-smaller

It amazed me that I had actually never come across a Craft x Hogwarts mash up before. I am sure it exists.

I enlisted the help of my two Potter friends (who were free) in recreating ‘The Craft’ movie poster in a Potteresque fashion.

ADVENTURES

Spider-Gwen, Spider-Gwen, Fashionable Neighborhood Spider-Gwen!

Spider-Gwen fans, your prayers have been answered!

WeLoveFine debuts today with their new line of Spider-Gwen inspired apparel, ranging from hoodies, tanks, and leggings! Hallelujah, lady nerds!

For those not in the know, Spider-Gwen is one of the most innovative characters to come out of the Spider-Verse arc, coming from an alternate reality where Gwen Stacy is the one who gets bitten by the radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker. Jason Latour & Robbi Rodriguez created her iconic costume, which is just one of the many reasons fans have fallen in love with Spider-Gwen.

I (ChubbyBunny Michelle!) was so pleased to be able to be one of the Spider-Gwens for this shoot, and had a blast jumping all over town to create that web slinger feel for the pics!

So hold on to your spider-pants, ladies, here comes some fashion suitable for any aspiring superhero!

WeLoveFine x Marvel: Age of Fashion Collection

WeLoveFine and Marvel have dropped their ‘Age of Fashion’ collection for pre-order today, just in time for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

TOP

The collection features Avengers-centric pieces, that are simple yet fashionably fierce, ranging from $26 to  $36 (USD).

The direction of Geek fashion is constantly evolving, and lately, there’s been a strong push towards diversity and positivity within fandoms, which is certainly the case for this shoot. There was a strong effort to include ladies of different races and backgrounds, as well as body types.

Cosplay: Cassandra Cain’s Batgirl

Batgirl, Casandra Cain

During Wondercon 2013, I wore one of my dream costumes. Ever since I saw Cassandra Cain’s Batgirl designs, I fell hardcore in love with the idea of cosplaying the character. About a year ago, I met Lauren of Castle Corsetry at a SUPER*MARKET event in Meltdown Comics and I was excited to see her work in person. I asked her if she would be interested if I commissioned Batgirl from her and she agreed! She made this amazing suit with the cape, the utility belt and even the gloves to match. For the cowl and guantlets, fellow cosplayer and friend, Anne Marie, recommended SoloRoboto Industries.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica Photoshoot

At Anime Expo 2011, I participated in three photoshoots (four if you count a casual one) and I’m sure if I wasn’t doing Artist Alley, it would be double that.

There’s something about cosplaying at a convention location that really draws me in. Some cosplayers prefer to schedule photoshoots outside of a convention to be away from the crowds and distractions but unless I have a specific location in mind, I really do love shooting a “con location”.
