If you heard that dim uproar in the horizon, don’t worry… it’s just the nerd community crying out in horror and despair because the San Diego Comic Con just sold out its 4-day passes. Pretty nuts, right? They sold them earlier this time and a lot of people missed out (but a lot didn’t, that’s for sure…). I guess raising the price to $100 a pop wouldn’t really deter the more hardcore SDCC lovers.
As for me, I am hoping they will approve me of a professional badge again, but I won’t know till later! So who knows if I’ll be at SDCC this year. Deep down inside, I am quite saddened at how difficult this convention is becoming. Not to mention the insanity with trying to book a hotel for a reasonable price without having to sneak in ten of your friends in order to afford it.
I will try to focus on other things for now though before I really freak out about the SDCC reckoning.
This next couple of weeks are going to be fun! Tomorrow, the Meet the Artist Reception is happening at Royal-T for the Hello Kitty Three Apples exhibition! There will be live painting from the artists, t-shirt screen printing, and toy releases!
Sunday, November 8 is HARRY POTTER DAY AT DISNEYLAND!!! I am EXTREMELY excited about this event. I have my Slytherin outfit all planned out, and I’m decorating myself with all sorts of Harry Potter… things!
My main goal is take photos of all the participating Wizards that will be flying in on their brooms, but there will be a game called the Coin Quest and I think I will have to make my friends participate with me. I’m sure we will fail miserably. I know for sure my HP knowledge isn’t up to par, but it should be fun.
The next week will be full of Hello Kitty events:
November 11, Gyaru Beauty Parlor, part of JAPANOLOGY, bought to us by the awesome ZIPPERCUT!
November 14, Bats and Cats Masquerade, bought to us by the ladies of BUBBLEPUNCH!
November 15, Hello Kitty inspired Fashion Show… which I haven’t quite pinpointed who is organizing this one, but I am sure I will find out soon.
Come out to these events if you can… it should be full of geeky fun, for sure!
