Reasons To Watch ‘The Wolverine’

TheWolverine_bluray1

Do I really need to give you reasons to why you should watch The Wolverine? First of all, it’s the Wolverine. Second of all, it’s Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine. I can’t imagine you’ll need more reasons than that! The Wolverine’s plot is set some time after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand, and Logan is in hiding and ridden with guilt for having been forced to kill Jean Grey. An old acquaintance from Japan seeks him out, forcing him out of his isolation and the Wolverine finds himself playing the ‘hero’ again despite his best efforts to live a quieter life.

Ep. 138 Magic Gambit

Podcast2013-web-image

Channing Tatum as Gambit? Sold! Yes, it might be “blasphemy” for most of you but these Lady Geeks are super interested in Tatum’s cajun accent. We also talked about Jurassic World and what it means to be a special flower. Fanfic Theater: The Walking Dead.

Why Wolverine and Gambit Are The Perfect Men

The Space Pirate Queen and I have known each for a very long time and have become really great friends. There are many things that make a friendship truly great. Trust, mutual respect, the ability to share our feelings, overall comradery, and when it comes to SPQ and myself, that beautiful and strong bond is the bond of how totally creepy we are when it comes to good lookin’ guys, real and fictional. Many times we’ll text each other back and forth and go off on tangents about some fantasy of ours, or as we like to say, “Our futures,” and these “futures” always involve fine men. Today, our future involved two very fine mutants: Wolverine and Gambit.

We decided that our future involved us spending half of the year in Russia with Wolverine and the other half in New Orleans with Gambit (obviously the wintertime is when we’d be in New Orleans). After going on and on about how perfect our futures were going to be, SPQ then brought up the fabulous suggestion that we collaborate on a blog and talk about how Wolvie and Gambit are two of the most perfect men ever. Aside from their obvious good looks, there are many aspects about these boys that make them very fine indeed.

So here it is, children. Five reasons why Wolverine and Gambit are the perfect men.

Going ons, going ons!

The SoCal Cosplay Gathering is happening this Saturday, May 9, in Irvine, California! The event is put together by some wonderful people who will make sure you will have fun hanging out in a park in your costumes!

If you love fun and cosplay, this is definitely the event for you to go this weekend. For $10, you get food, friends, games, and cosplay. That’s better than any ol’ convention can offer.

I am not a big part of the scene anymore, so I am not sure if I will go myself– but I have no problem pimping this event to the world because it’s pretty awesome. If I do end up going, see you there!

Otherwise, nothing else going on in my local geekery realm. I haven’t seen the new Wolverine movie yet. I want to see it for Dominic Monaghan; but I still hate the choice they made for Gambit. That actor does not do him justice. Yes. I am totally judging him before I even see the movie like a giant, fat jerk-face. Sorry, dude, but when it comes to Gambit… I’m not messing around.

I’ve never been a Trekkie and I’m barely familiar with the Star Trek universe, but… seriously looking forward to the new movie. It just looks damn cool!!! The cast looks very promising– and it’s not George Lucas directing! (Ohhhh… so went there!)

Not so sure when I’ll get the chance to see these movies though. I tend to drive solo in movie theaters these days, but the hard part is finding the time to be a movie-goer-loner.

Whoops, have to deal with some work “crisis”(-es?). Will possibly blog more later!
